Day by day, step by step — Makkah to Madinah

One day of Umrah & ziyarat in Makkah, three days of desert trekking through the documented Hijrah route, and a final day arriving on foot at Quba and Madinah. Daily route may differ depending on weather conditions.

    Day 1 · Makkah

    Makkah — Umrah & Ziyarat

    Perform Umrah and spend the day in Makkah visiting Al-Aqaba Mosque, the homes of Khadijah ﷺ and Abu Bakr ﷺ, walking to Al-Misfalah, and climbing Jabal Thawr where the Prophet ﷺ took refuge during the Hijrah. The Hijrah Walk commences at dawn the following day.

    Day 2 · Camping · Qudaid · Rabigh

    Makkah → Umm Ma'bad → Al-Hamdah

    The Hijrah commences. Leave Makkah behind and walk through Qudaid to the famous tents of Umm Ma'bad, then continue along the historic caravan road past the place of Suraqah's pursuit and several mountain passes, reaching Al-Juhfah — today the miqat for pilgrims from Syria and Egypt — before camping at Al-Hamdah for the first desert night.

    Day 3 · Camping · Wadi Al-Hamdah · Al-Qaha

    Al-Hamdah → Al-Qaha → Wadi Reem

    A long day threading the great valleys and historic wells of the route — the Al-Redwan Well, Al-Alaa Mosque, and Wadi Al-Ghathrayanah toward Al-Qaha, then onward past Lahyee Jamal and the Al-Taloob Well, climbing the pass of Thaniyat Al-Ghaier and descending into Wadi Reem for the second desert night.

    Day 4 · Resort · Abyar Almashi

    Wadi Reem → Al-Jithjathah

    Walk through Al-Khlayeq and Abyar Almashi — wells deeply tied to the Hijrah narrative — and arrive at Al-Jithjathah, where the third night is spent at a resort: a welcome rest before the final approach to Madinah.

    Day 5 · Madinah

    Al-Jithjathah → Quba → Madinah

    The emotional climax — walk into Madinah on foot, just as the early Muslims did. Pray at Masjid Quba, the first mosque of Islam, and enter the city of the Prophet ﷺ. Close the journey with salam at the Rawdah. طلع البدر علينا من ثنية الوداع.
