Al-Juhfah & Al-Hamdah

Walk the milestone-marked old caravan road through several historic mountain passes — Thaniyat Kawthar, Kharar, Khadawat, Thaniyat Al-Marah and Thaniyat al-Damjah. We pass the place where Suraqah pursued the Prophet ﷺ and where the verse 'Indeed He who has imposed the Qur'an upon you will return you to a place of return' was revealed. Camp is at Al-Hamdah near Rabigh.

Spiritual Significance

Al-Juhfah is today the miqat for pilgrims arriving from Syria and Egypt. To reach it on foot — the way the Prophet ﷺ did — gives the place a meaning a bus could never deliver.
